Our goal is to maintain a welcoming, respectful, and engaging community for all members. Participation in this forum constitutes agreement to follow these rules.
1. Respectful Conduct
All members are expected to treat one another with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
- Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or personal attacks are not permitted.
- Discrimination or hate speech of any kind — including but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, religious intolerance, or other forms of bigotry — is strictly prohibited.
- Disagreements are welcome, but they must remain civil and focused on ideas, not individuals.
- Trolling, baiting, or deliberately provoking other members is not allowed.
2. Appropriate Content
To maintain a safe and inclusive environment:
- Do not post graphic, violent, explicit, or otherwise sensitive content.
- Content should remain PG-13 in nature.
- Limited exceptions may be made for artistic or creative works that are non-sexual in nature, subject to administrative discretion.
- Do not share content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes upon the rights of others.
- Do not impersonate other individuals or organizations.
3. Privacy & Personal Information
- Do not share private, confidential, or sensitive information — including your own or anyone else's.
- Doxxing (publishing private information about someone without consent) is strictly prohibited.
- Only share information you are comfortable being publicly accessible.
4. Spam & Self-Promotion
- Spamming, excessive self-promotion, or posting repetitive content is prohibited.
- Do not post links to content that violates these rules.
- Automated posting or bot activity is not allowed without authorization.
- Commercial Content: Limited commercial advertising, affiliate links, or promotional material is permitted in moderation, provided you are an established and active member of the community. Accounts created primarily for promotional purposes, or members who immediately begin advertising without meaningful participation, may be subject to administrative action.
- Open Source & Creative Commons Projects: Promotion of open source and Creative Commons projects is encouraged. However, such posts must remain relevant, non-spammy, and accompanied by genuine participation in community discussions.
5. Illegal or Harmful Activity
- Do not post or promote illegal activities.
- Do not encourage self-harm, violence, or dangerous behavior.
- Content that poses a safety risk to members or the community will be removed immediately.
6. Proper Use of Categories & Threads
- Post discussions in the appropriate categories.
- If a conversation begins to drift significantly off-topic, start a new thread.
- Avoid derailing existing discussions.
- Use clear and descriptive titles when creating new threads.
7. Moderation & Enforcement
- Administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit, remove, or lock content at their discretion.
- Repeated or severe violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent bans.
- Attempts to circumvent moderation actions may result in further disciplinary action.
8. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content that violates these rules, please report it to the moderation team rather than engaging in public disputes.
9. Updates to the Rules
These guidelines may be revised as the community evolves. Continued participation in the forum indicates acceptance of any updates.
