Hey! Great to see you here :D
Yes, I am sort of going through the same process with the VPS. I must admit, I hardly know what I am doing and am stumbling through the process. What was meant to be a simple and quick setup is turning into a larger project than anticipated :p. The setup isn't too bad with the current states of LLMs able to help guide through very specific troubleshooting. If I was to do this a long time ago, I likely would have spent hours and hours sifting through forums to troubleshoot every tiny step. While I have obvious ethical concerns with AI/LLMs, I must admit that they can be a very useful tool.
Right now, I have a pretty small VPS with Cloudron (free for up to 2 apps), and have nodeBB and bookstack installed (we may end up changing to another wiki software, we are still not sure on the final choice for the wiki). Then I've been experimenting with a few other management tools and such outside of the Cloudron dashboard (vikunja, etherpad, leantime). Just yesterday, I spent some time setting up Anubis (Web AI firewall utility) - but I'm still fiddeling with that to see if it will be optimal for our use (I am having to host it on another machine, because it doesn't play well with Cloudron, from my understanding.
As for the monitoring with prometheus + grafana, I wanted to do something like this, but since I am using an old converted chromebook (running antiX) for my server monitoring, I needed to keep it lightweight. For now I am just running a simple Homer dashboard and glances. I want to look into some other options, but it is lower on the priority list.
Anyways, all that to say - yeah, I am sort of going through the same process. We're hard at work trying to get the website set up and ready for members, but no guarantee when we'll have it finished.
